Venue: Studio 1 G408, Academics Building 2, City University of Hong Kong / 4/F Lobby area, Academics Building 3, City University of Hong Kong

Aims:

  1. Build up a team spirit to know oneself more

  2. Engage in a collaborative process

  3. Strengthen their creativity through the live performances

  4. Create unique and diverse performances to share with the Heilongjiang University's students

All the participants selected their partners and paired up for the dance practice. Each pair first learned the dance to a Chinese song and then, to an English song. Because of differences in receptivity, participants spent different lengths of time to learn the dances. However after uniting together, participants helped each other to learn the two dances. Due to this, all the participants were able to master the dances within the planned time.

Reflections

Lo Wing Ying, Maggie

Since the atmosphere of this dance practice was very nice, I was easily immersed in the activity and paid great attention to the dance instructions by ISB team. It was also my first time to closely dance with someone else. This practice did not only help prepare for the upcoming international student ball well, but also created a stronger bonding among each of us.

Chor Cheuk Wing, Cherry

In the dance practice, we can see how many effort that members of ISB made. When we were dancing very consistent, it shows how we focus on this dance practice although we do not have any dancing basis. When we were dancing with our partner, we can make new friends.

Thapa Khim Bahadur

I got a great chance to know my dancing ability. I haven’t dance much in my life and through this two sessions I learnt some dancing skills too. It was a great fun exploring a new ability in myself. Plus the bond I created with friends is priceless. It was a refreshing and fun thing to do and I have learnt to enjoy life through dancing. I think I will dance quite often now on as I have gain much confidence.
