Project Management Workshop
Details:
Date: 27th December, 2017
Time: 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Venue: Room 1601, Academics Building 2, City University of Hong Kong
Aims:
1. Do activity planning and prioritizing task
2. Learn to schedule for their project
3. Improve team leadership skills
We are honored to have two of our accompanying teacher’s assistant Marco and Fernando to coach and train all the Heilongjiang participants during the Project Management Training Workshop. The workshop covered two sessions, “How to be a Project Manager-in Real Life Situations” and “Project Management - The Real-life Approach”. The first session, conducted by Fernando, stressed the importance of the Project Manager constantly asking themselves “What”, “How”, and “Why”, the latter being the most important.
During the second session, Marco talked about what qualities are found in an effective leader and their leadership. Besides the workshop, all the Project Managers and their team members consulted the coaches in their respective teams. Project Managers were able to ask for advice and specific questions on how to manage their team effectively. The take away from this Workshop is that a Project Manager is not an authorizer but a leader.
Reflections:
Li Pak Ming, Brian (Documentary PM)
Before the workshop, I was confused with how I can manage my teammate well in Documentary team, and the work I have to do. But after the workshop, I learned the way in thinking my responsibility in the documentary team and the way or skill to manage my teammates.
Yuan Weilun (Heilongjiang Team Head)
I'm really glad that I was given the opportunity to join this program. This workshop has definitely helped me so much to realize certain things that I have been lacking and opened my mind to further learning and improvement. has been an inspiration to my team in helping them gain a greater understanding of themselves and how they impact the teams they lead.
Wong Hei Man, Cherry (Booklet team member)
I think the project management workshop is very useful. The alumnus has told us some useful leadership skills and the golden circle (Why, How, What). This is a very good opportunity for me to think about my goal and what can l do to improve myself.
