2. Learn how to cooperate with team members
3. Have a better muscle building
4. Practice how to communicate efficiently with team members using proper hand gestures
The Pre-Trip Hiking 2 to Dragon’s Back was targeted towards all of the participants of the 10th Heilongjiang Challenge. This hike provides participants with some muscle training as the hike required climbing up stairs and rocky surfaces. The participants were also able to work together and help each other in case of injuries.
Participants gathered at the Shau Kei Wan MTR Station at 9:00 a.m. From there we took Bus No. 9 at 9:30 to To Tei Wan, Shek O Road. We began our hike from there at 10:00a.m. A member and the Project Manager of the Hiking 2 Team, led the hike to the Dragon’s Back. We had the first resting point once we reached the Dragon’s back. The view was great there so we took a rest and also took many photos. We then proceeded hiking at 10:30 a.m. till we reached the second resting point at 11:30 a.m. After rest at this point, we continued hiking and the hike from there was relatively easier. So that was our last resting point. On our way down to Tai Tam Gap, one of the participants got injured, so we worked together and the Safety Officers help her out. We all finished the hike by 2:30 p.m. and went back to Shau Kei Wan MTR Station and were dismissed there.

I think that hiking 2 was challenging because this hiking route had many stairs and stones which makes us difficult to walk. We were easily to slip down so we help each other who are behind and in front of us. We should improve is that when someone shout and we should pass on the message to the front or back. Therefore, others can know what’s going on, for example, keep to the left or right or someone got hurt.

The hiking trip was really a treasurable experience. Although the hiking trial was a bit hard, the scenery was really beautiful as well as the weather. Another really memorable moment was when we were walking as a team and when someone was hurt, others would come to help and show concern. Especially the efforts of the safety officers were really commendable. All in all, it was a good experience.

The hiking was great. It was more challenging than the previous hiking trail. I was able to bond with all participants and build our team spirit. We looked out for each other. Our communication skill also improved a lot through this activity. Overall, it was a good experience.

Since I have the experience of the previous hiking, I feel less exhausted this time even though the road is much more rugged. The view is also very nice and we try to take a lot of photos together. However, one of our friends get injured while hiking. Luckily our safety officers immediately tackle with this situation and solve the problem. Overall, this hiking trip is challenging but joyful.
