International Collegiate Snow Sculpture Contest Team goes on the news!

9 January, 2018 Tuesday

The International Collegiate Snow Sculpture Contest Team was interviewed by Ta Kung Pao. The team has done a great job in sculpting something that represents Hong Kong’s 114-year history of the electric tram. Smile Tsang, a member of the ISS team said that “I couldn’t believe that sculpting the ice was difficult, the ice was hard, I lost my energy after picking the ice a few times. Also, the weather outside was extremely cold, standing on the ice for an extended period of time so my hands and feet felt numb. Despite we have no experience and this is our first time to do ice-sculpting, everyone cooperated with each other. This was a very special first-time experience."

In fact, we are the only team from outside Mainland China that has continuously participated in this contest for the last ten years. This was the 10th International Collegiate Snow Sculpture Contest held and also the 10th time we joined this contest! The hard work towards crafting the sculpture was just like how we organized this trip - in the end, all of us were very proud of the ISS Team's final product!

Congratulations! A group photo with Julian and ISS team members was taken at Harbin Engineering University.
